Christian Nguyen is doing Inkvaders Tattoo in Geneva for years now. He played in bands before as well (such as Body Bag…).

He is quite busy tattooing all day long and even having a merchandise label called Inkvaders Wear. Thanks to Christian for answering all my questions.
1. Hi Christian. You are the owner of Inkvaders tattoo in Geneva. For how long are you doing this tattoo shop now?
Christian: I oppened this shop about 8 years ago and tattoing now in geneva for 18 years.
2. How did you find out that tattooing is the thing you want to spend your life with?
Christian: Well,I have always been playing in a band and doing show with older people and everybody in this scene was tattooed then,also,i was really bored at school and would spend more time drawing than working…then i started getting tattooed at 15th and by then knew that it was something i ll do one day…and here we are 18th years later,and still loving it!! Definitly feeling blessed!!
3. Which artists influenced you most on your way so far?
Christian: Well,so many…I guess in the tattoo industry, people like amar, bernie luther, filip leu, eddy deutch…and the list goes on and on. Then people like robert williams, robertcrumb, pushead, jim phillips and many more!!!!

4. Where do you get new ideas from and are you able to draw all day long or do you need a special mood to draw?
Christian: I used to draw night and day until i had kids,now i still draw a lots but it’s hard to find the time…and ideas…well it’s non stop,i wish i could find find the time to do and finish all the ideas i have…….
5. You have started Inkvaders Wear as well. This is an online shop where people can buy merchandise which is printed with your tattoo motives. What was your motivation to start this shop?
Christian: I always loved shirts, I did my first when I was 15th and never stoped since, one of my motivation is to meet all thoses amazing artist and share some projects and good times!! Many good collab to come for next year…stay tuned!!!
6. Which motives/style is your favorite one? Black and white or color?
Christian: I definitly love black & grey!! About the style, i like everyday to be different, so if in a week i have a lettering, a japanese, a portrait and some biomechanic i would be super stoked!! I just like everyday to be different, not only the design, but also the kind of customer. I really like to hear all kind of stories…
7. What are you doing in your sparetime and to which music do you listen to?
Christian: I am busy with the kids and also playing in a band called Despite War. Our CD should be out really soon with many special guests . Then we have the clothing line and I am also doing a lots of graphics for different company….
8. Sometimes you go on tour with famous artists to tattoo them. Any funny stories to tell?
Christian: The most of those stories are funny only when drunk….but to be honest, it gave me the opportunity to see a lot of things that people never see, sometime funny, sometime not….and I kinda like to keep thoses stories private….
9. Anything else to say?
Christian: Just wanna thank god, my family, my friends and all the amazing peoples I met all along the way!! It s been an amazing trip so far…..
